Rachel Copeland | Counsellor Dip MBACP
My name is Rachel Copeland and I am a qualified counsellor, living in Leigh-On-Sea.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I tailor the mode of counselling to best fit your needs. I will take into account your specific issues and we can work together to edge you towards your personal goals.
I have experience of working with ex-offenders, carers and victims of sexual abuse within local charity organisations. I have also spent time working as a counsellor for a local grammar school. These have been extremely humbling and rewarding experiences which have strengthened my knowledge within these fields.
I provide a confidential, supportive and safe space to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This will lead to you gaining a better understanding of yourself and others. I understand that seeking professional help can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially if you haven’t had counselling before. You may be unsure of what to expect. With that in mind, I will always work at your pace and provide regular reviews so we can make sure we are keeping on track.
I am available for private counselling and if you have health insurance with Bupa, you can find me on the list of Bupa Registered Therapists.
About the Copeland Counselling Practice – What kind of atmosphere will there be?
I provide a confidential, supportive and safe space to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This will lead to you gaining a better understanding of yourself and others. My job is not to give you my opinions, advice or to prescribe medication. At times, I may be able to offer you relevant information, but at no point would I ever tell you what you should think or do. I believe our inner compass is our best guide. However, from my experience, we sometimes have trouble either tuning into that inner wisdom or trusting it if we do manage to. My job is to assist you in finding your own solutions. Whether that be finding ways to better manage the issues you are facing or effecting positive changes in your life. I will be there to support you the whole way.
Explaining further about Copeland Counselling and how it works, the counselling will take place in mutually agreed, regular sessions which will last for 50 minutes. The frequency of appointments will depend on your individual circumstances. However, one session per week is recommended for therapy to be effective.
You may prefer face to face meetings (with Covid safety precautions observed) or remote therapy, either online or over the phone may suit your needs better. I am able to provide a variety of options to meet your specific needs.
Therapy is particularly helpful for exploring feelings surrounding:
- Your relationships
- Your childhood
- Your emotions or thoughts
- Your behaviour
- Past or present life events
- Particular situations you find difficult
Whatever you decide to speak about is completely your choice. While learning about Copeland Counselling one major take away, I hope, is that this is a non-judgmental space for you.
